IELTS Speaking Technology – Part 1

1. Let’s talk about technology. Do you have a computer?

Yes, I do have a computer. It’s an essential part of my life as it helps me stay connected with my friends and family, as well as allows me to access a wealth of information at the click of a button.

2. Do you believe that people today rely too much on technology?

Well, I can see how some people might say that but really, it depends on the person. To me, technology makes my life more convenient and efficient so I can’t say that I necessarily rely too much on it. That said, everyone has their own opinion on this matter.

3. What was the last piece of technology you bought?

I just bought a new smartphone because my old one was starting to break down. It was a bit of an investment but I’m really happy with it so far. It’s made my life a lot more convenient.

4. What modern technological devices are most common in your country?

Some of the most common technological devices in Vietnam are smartphones, laptops, and tablets. However, Vietnamese people also use a lot of traditional devices such as bicycles and motorbikes.

5. How often do you use the Internet – and for what purposes?

I would say that I use the Internet on a daily basis, mostly for browsing social media, reading news articles, and doing research. Every now and then, I also like to watch videos or play games online.

IELTS Speaking Technology – Part 2

Q: Describe a technology you use often. You should say:

  • What it is
  • What you use it for
  • Why you would like to use it

A:
Contemporary breakthroughs in the fields of technology have facilitated us with a number of technological devices such as computers, cameras, MP3 players, DVD players, washing machines, and mobile phones. Here, I would like to talk about one of the most eminent devices – the mobile phone, which is becoming increasingly popular in the whole world. As it is a portable communication device, it has provided us the opportunity to stay connected with our friends and family members – no matter where we are.

I use my mobile phone throughout the day for several reasons. Firstly, I use it for making calls with my near and dears, so that I can stay in touch with them. Secondly, it allows me to surf the Internet in my free time or while traveling; as a result, I do not feel bored during those periods. Aside from that, it is very helpful for entertainment purposes, as I can use it to watch YouTube videos and listen to music during my spare time. Furthermore, thanks to its huge storage memory, I also use the device to save files and share them with my friends later.

All in all, I would say that my mobile phone has become an integral part of my life. Most of my time is spent in its company – and that is the main reason why I really love it.

IELTS Speaking Technology – Part 3

1. What are the advantages & disadvantages of technology?

Some advantages of technology are that it can help make our lives more convenient, efficient, and fun. For example, thanks to advances in transportation technology, we can now travel faster and farther than ever before. Additionally, communication technology has made it possible for us to connect with people from all over the world instantaneously. And finally, entertainment technology such as television and video games can provide us with enjoyable ways to relax and unwind.

While there are many advantages to using technology, there are also some potential disadvantages. One downside is that technology can sometimes make us more reliant on machines – instead of using our own abilities. Additionally, overuse of technology can lead to things like neck pain or carpal tunnel syndrome. And finally, technology can be expensive to purchase and maintain.

2. What kind of technological advances do you think have made the biggest impact on the way we live?

In my opinion, the technological advances that have had the biggest impact on the way we live are those related to transportation, communication, and entertainment. Thanks to these advances, we can now travel faster and farther than ever before, stay in touch with people from all over the world instantaneously, and enjoy a wide variety of entertainment options at our fingertips. These advances have truly changed the way we live – making it possible for us to experience things that were once impossible.

3. Do you think we would be better off without technology? Why or why not?

No, I don’t think we would be better off without technology. While there are some downsides to using technology, the advantages it provides us with outweigh these drawbacks. We would lose all of these benefits if we were to completely give up technology.

4. What are some of the ways you think we can make better use of technology?

There are a few ways I think we can make better use of technology. First, we can be more mindful about how much time we spend using it. It is important to strike a balance between using technology and engaging in other activities – such as spending time with family and friends, or being active outdoors. Additionally, we can be more selective about the types of technology we use. Instead of opting for the latest and greatest gadget, we should only purchase things that we know we will actually use and that will improve our lives in some way.
