BODY PARAGRAPH 1:

Một vài người cho rằng tập thích nghi với climate change sẽ thực tế hơn là cố gắng hồi phục/giải quyết

Việc hồi phục/giải quyết climate change tốn nhiều công sức, tiền bạc, cần sự góp sức của nhiều quốc gia => tập thích nghi với tình hình thực tại sẽ thực tế hơn
E.g: Biến đổi khí hậu làm nhiệt độ nóng lên => sử dụng nhiều máy lạnh hơn
E.g: Mực nước biển tăng => Xây hàng rào biển

BODY PARAGRAPH 2:

Cách giải thích này không hợp lí, sống chung với BĐKH chỉ là cách tạm thời, không giải quyết triệt để -> phản tác dụng khiến môi trường + đời sống trở nên tệ hơn.
Nước biển tăng dẫn đến hiện tượng xâm thực -> Venice là ví dụ của việc bị nhấn chìm bởi nước biển.

2/ ESSAY:

While some believe that everyone should be involved in combating the effects of climate change, others argue that trying to adapt to the situation is a wiser decision. From my perspective, I strongly disagree with the latter statement, since this way of living can lead to several consequences.

Some might advocate that it is more practical and effective to cope with the impact of climate change than to work on solutions to tackle it. This can be explained by the fact that a colossal amount of effort and budget, coupled with compulsory international cooperation, has to be invested in reversing the detrimental status quo of the environment. Such a huge investment would make the initiative unrealistic for some parts of the world, especially the underdeveloped regions, to participate in. Therefore, it is seemingly easier if humans can try to live harmoniously with environmental issues. For example, to deal with rising temperatures, housing can be equipped with an elaborate system of air conditioners. Similarly, residents living in coastal areas can be safeguarded from the influence of rising sea levels by implementing seawalls.

However, this line of reasoning is not compelling since the temporariness of climate adaptation is unfeasible in the long run, or even worse, might create a backfire effect on human lives. One of the most devastating consequences of rising sea levels is the risk of the ground being drowned by the ocean and the increasing salinity. The sinking city of Venice, take as an example, results from the increase in baseline of sea. If people choose to compromise with this situation, it can pose an existential threat to not only humans but also to the lives on Earth due to the narrowing of habitat and shortage of drinkable water. Moreover, climate change foreshadows the foreseeable repercussions of destructive natural disasters such as storms, typhoons, and hurricanes on humans’ lives. The recent Yagi typhoon, for example, has cut a swathe throughout the northern part of Vietnam, leading to hundreds of fatalities and damage. This scenario can shed light on how the negligence of people with environmental combat can eventually cause such destructive outcomes.

In conclusion, I hold a strong belief that adapting to the effects of climate change is an unwise decision due to the unimaginable threats to humans’ lives in the long term.
