I. IELTS SPEAKING PART 2:
Describe a person you only met once and want to know more about
You should say:
Who he/she is?
When you met him/her?
Why do you want to know more about him/her?
And explain how you feel about him/her?
| Who he/she is? | Well, when it comes to a person that has left me a strong impression, the first one springing to my mind is Minh, a girl whom I only met once. |
| When you met him/her? | It was a few years ago when I had a trip to the beach with my family. You know, I’m a night owl so I usually wake up quite late. However, one morning, I got up very early for no reason. Since everyone was still sleeping and I had nothing to do, I decided to kill time by going for a walk along the beach. That was when I encountered Minh, who was jogging in the same direction with me. |
| Why do you want to know more about him/her? |
Actually, at first, I wasn’t paying much attention to her when she started the conversation. In fact, I even felt quite irritated because I was expecting to have some alone time. However, she was quite good at holding a conversation so I was gradually drawn into her. The coolest thing I found out about her was that she geeked out over world history, the bible and Greek mythology. She talked about them with passion and the more I listened to her, the more I found her appealing. I learned quite a few interesting things about the Old Testament, the New Testament and Greek Gods, which were kinda eye-opening. To be honest, there’re no particular reasons why I want to get to know her more. I guess I’m just naturally attracted to people when they’re showing their passion in something. However, we didn’t exchange our contact when we said our farewell, which was something I quite regretted. Up until now, I still don’t understand why I didn’t. |
| And explain how you feel about him/her? | As I said, since I’m always fascinated by those who are enthusiastic about something, I think Minh was such a smart cookie and had an appealing personality. On top of that, I appreciated the fact that she came up to me and tried to befriend me since I’m an introvert and usually prefer to keep to myself. She has proved me that as long as you open your heart, you’ll find very good people around. Hopefully, I’ll see Minh again one day and then, I’ll definitely ask for her number. |
