• Mọi người lầm tưởng việc thưởng cho học sinh có thành tích tốt là đương nhiên → Rewards punish: phạt những người còn lại dù họ đã nổ lực cả học kỳ → cảm giác bất công → nản không chịu học → hậu quả là cũng sẽ tập trung vào thành tích, không thật sự phát triển bản thân
• Ngoài ra, nhiều học sinh mong có thành tích cao sinh ra gian lận: đi thi hộ, copy bài, sử dụng AI tools chứ không phải do thực lực.

Topic sentence: Tránh được những trường hợp tiêu cực trong môi trường GD chỉ để lấy đc rewards từ điểm cao.

• Cảm giác được ghi nhận vì nỗ lực là nhìn vào cả quá trình, chứ không nhìn vào kết quả only → không chỉ học vì điểm số, tiền thưởng, danh hiệu → quên mục đích thực sự của việc học.
• Mọi học sinh sẽ nỗ lực để tiến bộ chứ không ganh đua điểm số => thể hiện năng lực thật → tìm ra được đam mê của bản thân → tập trung tìm hiểu và đạt được nhiều kiến thức chuyên sâu → trở thành chuyên gia trong lĩnh vực đó.

2/ Sample

Rewarding has long been considered a form of recognition for students. However, it is debated whether students should be rewarded based on the result of their academic performance, or on their progress. I strongly believe that students should be recognized through their progress.

On the one hand,  there is a widespread assumption that rewarding students with A-level results is a must since it serves as an obvious acclaim for their performance, which sets a model for others to study harder. However, hardly can they realize that this is also deemed as a punishment for those who have devoted a great deal of effort in class. Not providing enough appreciation for these students may give rise to the feeling of injustice, turning them into discouraged learners who would shift their focus to mere results rather than personal development. The consequences of this misled thinking is some dishonest behaviors, such as hiring an imposter to take the test in one’s stead, plagiarism or taking advantage of AI tools, thereby creating an unhealthy learning environment for all stakeholders.

Since the more concentration given to the results, the more students neglect the sake of studying, rewards should be granted to students who show betterment over the time. In fact, any education system should treasure every effort that can trigger learners’ intrinsic motivation. This effort shows students their true potential in a particular field which may evolve to become their passion, and likely lead them to success when they can become professionals in that field, contributing to society.

To sum up, rewards given to students who show advancement should be prioritized, as to ensure a fair education for every student to thrive and create an equitable educational environment.
