Đề bài: 

In the past, people stored knowledge in books. Nowadays people store knowledge on the internet. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

“Trong quá khứ,  con người lưu trữ kiến thức vào sách. Hiện nay, họ lưu trữ kiến thức vào Internet. Điều này tốt hay xấu?”

1/ DÀN BÀI:

1. INTRODUCTION: Paraphrase đề. Thể  hiện quan điểm bản thân.

1. BODY PARAGRAPH 1: 

 Lợi ích của việc lưu trữ thông tin trên internet:

• Thông tin có thể được tìm thấy nhanh chóng, ở bất cứ đâu, bất cứ khi nào, bất cứ loại thông tin nào và tồn tại ở nhiều định dạng: hình ảnh, âm thanh,… với giá khá rẻ- chỉ cần có kết nối mạng; so với sách cần phải mua hoặc mượn từ thư viện, và thường có giá khá cao, tùy vào chất lượng sách, nhà xuất bản và độ dài của sách .

• Thông tin tồn tại vĩnh viễn, không bao giờ bị thất lạc, chỉ cần người đăng ghi lại được đường dẫn vào file; so với sách có thể bị mất, bị rách, ướt hoặc bị cháy.

1. BODY PARAGRAPH 2: 

• Tính xác thực của thông tin có thể không đảm bảo: do sự thuận lợi của việc đăng thông tin lên internet, sự kiểm duyệt sẽ rất khó khăn để lọc ra những thông tin đúng sự thật.

• Sự vi phạm bản quyền: hiện nay các đầu sách lớn nhất thế giới đều bị ăn cắp bản quyền và đăng lên internet. Điều này gây thiệt hại không nhỏ cho các nhà xuất bản. Đặc biệt là các đầu sách tham khảo: cambridge ielts, mindset ielts,.. bị leak file cho việc photo bất hợp pháp, và nhà xuất bản sẽ không nhận được tiền bản quyền từ những bản này.

1. CONCLUSION: Khẳng định lại quan điểm.

2/ BÀI MẪU:

In recent years, it has witnessed an augmenting advancement of technology and an ability to access the internet without borders of space and time. Owing to these developments, people are using the Internet as an alternative to classic books, which once were the only source of knowledge, in order to store documents. From my view, the advantages of using the Internet as a high-quality source of knowledge are totally dominating the drawbacks it may contain.

On the grounds that the access to the Internet is apparent these days, knowledge stored in the Internet can be reached anywhere, anytime. First of all, the price for using the Internet is much cheaper than buying a book from the bookstores. All people need to search for information on the Internet is a portable device with Internet connection, such as a laptop or mobile phone connected to WIFI or LAN cable, which is mostly affordable, even free at public places. Furthermore, people can read not only one book or document at one time, but the accessibility to other books is ready at any time. Last but not least, online sources of information cannot be lost as long as the link to websites is still kept.  Compared to these features, books can only contain one content per book, and are quite expensive, especially for high quality books from well-known publishers. In addition, books can be lost, burnt, wet or damaged due to the destruction of time and the letters can fade over a period. 

 The authentication of information may be the only aspect to concern when it comes to online sources of knowledge. By virtue of easy accessibility to the internet, posting a piece of document onto the world-wide-webs only takes up to 5 minutes, and it is not common that someone will legit check most of the documents. This phenomenon can give rise to misunderstanding in some circumstances. Besides, copyright issues are an utmost complex problem when it comes to verifying the reliance of online publishers. For instance, reference books such as Cambridge IELTS, Mindset IELTS or Complete IELTS book series from Cambridge are among the most sought for those who are intending to take the IELTS. Thus, there are many pdf files on the Internet for downloading these books without paying any fee. This has been accounting for a detrimental loss in income for publishers as they have invested a large amount of money to research and write books.

In conclusion, storing knowledge online has undenied benefits that totally outweigh the disadvantages it may bring. Nonetheless, there should be actions to be taken in order to protect the rights of publishers as well as ensure only the truth will be delivered to readers.
