Sample
I remember a time when I was browsing through my Facebook feed and saw a post that really caught my attention. It was a video that a friend had shared, and it showed a group of people performing an incredible acapella rendition of a popular song.
The video was shot in a large auditorium, and it featured a group of about 20 singers who were arranged in a semi-circle on stage. The song was a popular ballad, but the way they were singing it was completely different from any other version I had ever heard. They were using only their voices to create all of the instrumental sounds, including the drums, guitar, and even the bass. The harmonies were absolutely stunning, and I was blown away by the level of talent that was on display.
What I found most interesting about the video was the way that it had been shared and commented on by people from all around the world. Within just a few days of being posted, it had already been viewed millions of times and had been shared by people in dozens of different countries. I was struck by the way that the performance had touched people from all walks of life. People were sharing their own personal stories about how the song had helped them through difficult times and brought them a sense of hope and joy.
Overall, I think this video showcased the power of social media to bring people together and create a shared sense of community. The video reminded me of the importance of creativity in our lives and the appreciation towards the beauty of the world around us.
IELTS Speaking part 3
1. Why do people like to use social media?
There are many reasons why people like to use social media. Firstly, social media allows people to connect with friends and family who live far away. If someone has moved to a different city or country, social media provides a way for them to stay in touch with their loved ones and share updates and photos about their lives.
Another reason is that it provides a way to meet new people and to join communities based on shared interests. Many social media platforms have groups and pages dedicated to specific topics, such as cooking, fitness, or travel. By joining these groups, people can connect with others who have similar interests and learn from their experiences.
Social media is also a way for people to express themselves and share their thoughts and ideas with a wider audience. Someone might use social media to share their writing, art, or music with others. Social media can also provide a platform for activism and social justice causes, allowing people to raise awareness about important issues and to mobilize others to take action.
2. What kinds of things are popular on social media?
The types of content that people engage with can vary depending on the platform and the audience. Some common types of content on social media include:
Photos and videos: Sharing photos and videos is one of the most popular activities on social media. People like to share pictures of themselves, their friends and family, and their experiences, such as vacations, concerts, and special events.
Memes and humor: Memes and other forms of humor are very popular on social media, especially among younger users. Memes are usually humorous images or videos that are shared widely and often go viral.
3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using social media?
Well, on the one hand, social media is a great way to connect with people from all over the world, whether it’s family, friends, or people who share similar interests. It’s also a great way to stay up-to-date with the latest news and events, and to engage with businesses and organizations in new and innovative ways.
But, on the other hand, social media can be a bit of a double-edged sword. It can be really time-consuming and addictive, and a lot of people find themselves spending way too much time scrolling through their feeds instead of doing other things. It can also be a source of negativity and harassment, which can have really serious consequences for people’s mental health.
