IELTS Speaking 2:
Part 2: Describe an indoor or outdoor place where it was easy for you to study
You should say:
- Where it is
- What it is like
- When you go there
- What you study there
And explain why you would like to study in this place
Where it is | When it comes to an indoor or outdoor place in which I spend time working or studying, the place that pops up in my mind is a coffee shop called “Swebi” located on a corner of a street in Binh Tan district. |
What it is like | Regarding the ambiance of the coffee shop, although it is not a spacious café, it offers customers who prefer minimalistic styles a chilling and cosy atmosphere. The place is well-furnished and neatly decorated with warm, yellow lights, black and white wallpapers with various large windows overlooking the crowded streets. Since the menu offers diverse options from coffee to milk tea, the shop attracts numerous customers mainly Gen Z and young millennials. |
When you go there | As my house is only 2 kilometres away from the coffee shop, Swebi is my go-to café whenever I want to study or unwind after a long day of work or study. |
What you study there | Being a university student, my life is filled with countless deadlines and assignments. Therefore, whenever I come there, doing assignments related to my major will be my top priority. |
Explain why you would like to study in this place | Moving on to the reasons why I enjoy spending my time studying in this place, firstly, I am not a homebody, which means that I prefer spending my time outside my home. Moreover, it is common sense among the young generation to study or work in a café or other public places. Not only do these places offer them a comfortable atmosphere, but the customers are also motivated by the hectic environment. |
IELTS Speaking 3:
-
Do you like to learn on your own or with others?
If I were to choose, I would prefer studying individually. Although studying with other people might be a good choice to get your problems solved through discussions, it might bring about unwanted distractions such as study-unrelated talks or so on. By studying alone, I can discover things on my own even though it might be a bit time-consuming, as well as to gain a higher level of concentration.
-
What’s the difference between learning face-to-face with teachers and learning by yourself?
There are quite a few dissimilarities between studying with teachers and individually. First and foremost, since lecturers are qualified to teach a particular subject, questions raised within lessons will immediately be solved and real-time feedback will also be given, which is more time efficient. On the other hand, self-study requires individuals to put effort into doing research and analysis before coming up with the final solution, despite being time-consuming, students will be equipped with problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
-
Do you prefer to study at home or study in other places?
Since I don’t regard myself as a homebody, studying in social places is my top priority. Moreover, I have a bad habit of procrastinating my work or study, by going to coffee shops or libraries the hectic pace of these places gives me a lot of motivation and peer pressure that my productivity will increase to gain valuable outcomes.
-
What are the benefits of gaining work experience while studying?
Acquiring work experience when studying brings about enormous advantages for students regarding their future careers. By engaging in realistic business problems or solving study cases, students will have a chance to apply theoretical knowledge to make business decisions.
