- Sự thu hẹp của hành lang bên trái → mở rộng cho khu vực children’s fiction book.
- Sự thay đổi chức năng của các phòng
2/ Bài mẫu:
The diagrams show the layout of a local library 20 years ago and at present after certain alterations. Overall, the building witnessed considerable changes in the area’s function, while retaining the general layout.
20 years ago, the main entrance on the south would lead visitors straight to the main hall, with two sets of tables and chairs located in the middle of the building. In addition, there was a place for the adult fiction books section on the left hallway, and the adult non-fiction books one was on the right. After two decades, all adult fiction books were moved to the east hall, replacing all adult non-fiction books, with an addition of an information desk and three self-service machines. Meanwhile, the left hallway is now filled with a reference book section.
It is also noticeable that the size of the left hall has been reduced, making more space for the upper corner zone, which used to be a multimedia room consisting of CDs, videos, and video games, and was turned into a reading zone for young readers, filled with their age-appropriate fiction books and a couple of sofas, conducive to storytelling events. This children’s books section was originally located on the upper right corner, which is now reused as a lecture room.
Opposite of which is a cafe, it used to be the enquiry desk, where people received tickets, returned books, and did other administrative procedures 20 years ago. Move to the bottom left corner, the reading room for newspaper and magazine readers was transformed into a new computer room, with its entrance moved from the north to the west of the room.
